A number of our members have represented their native countries before or during their membership with our club. Caps are earnt as Glendalough AC runners unless stated otherwise.
In total our members have 40 international caps all in mountain running: 2 as senior level, 4 at development level, and 36 at master’s level. Four caps were achieved with previous clubs and our efforts have yielded five medals so far (two team medals for Graham Bush, two for Paul Duffy and one for Joe Lalor with Becky Quinn having two individual and three team medals as our best performer).
Aoife Joyce (4)

Represented Ireland at the World Mountain Running Trophy 2007 in Ovronnaz, Switzerland finishing 79th.
Represented Ireland at the Snowdon International Race in 2007, 2009, and 2011 finishing 215th (2nd Irish scorer), 155th (1st Irish scorer), and finally 17th woman in 2011 (2nd Irish scorer).
Aoife’s caps were all achieved while a member of Crusaders AC.
BECKY QUINN (12)
Prior to joining Glendalough AC, Becky Quinn represented Ireland on numerous occassions culminating with a Gold medal in the World Masters Mountain Running Championship in Clonmel 2022.
In 2023 she represented Ireland at the World Mountain and Trail Running Championships Innsbruck-Stubai – Trail Long over 87 km finishing 54th out of 129 female competitors.

Becky first cap as a Glendalough AC member was achieved at the World Masters in Canfranc 2024 where she won Bronze in the F50 category in the Uphill Only race before unfortunately having to DNF in the Long 34 km Trail race the next day.
In 2025, she had another great year winning individual Gold in both the Classic and Long Trail race and Team Bronze in the Classic race. 4 months later she won another two medals taking Silver individually and with the Irish team in the Long Trail while finishing 5th in the classic race.
Catherine Devitt (1)

Represented Ireland at the Snowdon International Race in 2013 finishing 27th woman and 2nd Irish scorer.
Catherine’s caps were achieved while a member of Rathfarnham WSAF.
Graham Bushe (12)

Represented Ireland in the World Masters Mountain Running Championship Uphill Only race in 2022 in Clonmel finishing 131st and 31st in the M50 category.
Represented Ireland in the World Masters Mountain Running Championship Uphill Race in Madeira 2023 finishing 15th in his category (M50) and being the third scorer for the Silver Medal winning Irish team.
He also finished 16th in his category at the Madeira Championship in the Long Up/Down event.
In Canfran World Masters Championship 2024, Graham competed in all three events (6.5 km uphill, 34 km long trail and 17 km classic up/down) winning a team Bronze medal for the M55 team in the 17 km classic race.
In 2025, Graham Bush completed the triple crown at the World Masters in Meduno running in all three races.
JOE LALOR (2)
Represented us for the first time at the World Masters Championship in Canfranc competing in the Uphill Only and the Classic Up/Down 17 km. Joe earnt a Team Gold medal in the latter.
KEVIN DOHERTY (3)
Kevin got his debut at the Canfranc World Masters Mountain Running Championship finishing as the fourth scorer and just missing out on a team medal with the M40 team in the Up/Down 17 km Classic Race.
Kevin raced again in Meduno in the Classic race in 2025 for his third cap.
Paul Duffy (3)

Represented Ireland in the World Masters Mountain Running Championship Uphill only race in 2022 in Clonmel finishing 199th and 50th in the M40 category and earnt his second cap in the 17 km Up/Down Classic in Canfranc 2024 where he helped Ireland secure a Team Silver in the M40 category.
Paul got his next cap and medal in Meduno in 2025 where he was the second scorer for the Bronze winning Irish team in the Classic race.
René Borg (1)

Represented Denmark in the World Masters Mountain Running Championship Uphill Only race in 2022 in Clonmel finishing 188th and 48th in the M40 category.
Richard Kieran (1)

Represented Ireland in the World Masters Mountain Running Championship Uphill Race in Madeira 2023 finishing 28th in his category (M55) and being the third scorer for the Silver Medal winning Irish team.
Torben Dahl (1)

Represented Denmark in the World Masters Mountain Running Championship Uphill only race in 2022 in Clonmel finishing 158th and 40th in the M40 category.
