Senior Training usually alternates between the Roundwood Reservoir trails and the Laragh GFC pitches, check the facebook page to see if there are any changes or updates to training or email our coach directly. Most of our communication around this is on WhatsApp.
Training overview
Most weeks training is as follows:
- Tuesday evening: Faster sessions from 6:30 pm at Roundwood Reservoir or Laragh / Glendalough (Fartlek, intervals, hill reps etc.). Bring torch-light in the winter months.
- Thursday evening: Beginner’s training from Glendalough at 6:00 pm and Steady/Mixed session (Fartleks, tempos, progression runs) alternating Roundwood Reservoir and Laragh from 6:30 pm
- Saturday morning: Steady runs and Winter League part of the year from 8:00 am (early start) and 9:00 am (sometimes on hiatus in summer)
- Sunday morning: Group long runs – we alternate Sunday runs from 8:30 am from the Couch House in Roundwood for the 10 mile Reservoir loop (shorter options available) and a loop in Glendalough/Laragh starting from the Glendalough Green.
We sometimes deviate from the above locations or programme so if you’re a new member contact us in advance of going to your first session.
